The River Walk is more than just restaurants, boat rides, and attractions! We always have something to do and April is packed with festivities for every type of traveler. We will share events happening along (or nearby) the River Walk each month to help you plan your adventures. So aside from our regular programming such as our Artisan Shows and Parades (which you can find more info on our Events Page), here’s a list of events you may not have known about:

Less than a five-minute walk from the River Walk, Main Plaza is home to the San Fernando Cathedral and hosts many events throughout the month.
San Antonio | The Saga | Tues.-Sun. | 9 + 9:30 p.m. | This unique video art projection by international artist Xavier de Richemont depicts the historical discovery, settlement, and development of San Antonio, our wonderful Lone Star State, and United States history.

Did you know we have two museums along the River Walk? Here’s what we have going on at the San Antonio Museum of Art located on the Museum Reach and the Briscoe Western Art Museum located downtown.
San Antonio Museum of Art Public Tours | Every Tuesday + Sunday | Take a tour of the highlights of the museum or learn more about the special exhibitions.
Playdates: Endless Possibilities | April 19 | San Antonio Museum of Art | The Playdates Program is geared specifically for caregivers and toddlers (2–4 years) focusing on looking, sharing, and creating.
2023 Night of the Artist Exhibition | Now – May 7 | Briscoe Wester Art Museum | One of the premier Western art events in the world, Night of Artists includes the viewing and sale of over 270 new works of painting, sculpture and mixed media by more than 75 of today’s leading contemporary Western artists.
Earth Day at the Briscoe | April 22 | Celebrate Earth Day on the banks of the San Antonio River with Eco-Friendly programming at the Briscoe! Enjoy hands-on nature lessons during a come-and-go program that features the Nectar Bar and Bat Conservation International, as well as FREE arts and crafts for all ages.

MISSION REACH
Located south of the downtown River Walk, the Mission Reach is home to Confluence Park where many events take place throughout the month!
Community Yoga | Every Sunday | Dreading those Sunday Scaries? We got you covered! Raise your vibration with Mobile Om and the San Antonio River Foundation, Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. at Confluence Park.
5th Annual San Antonio Sustainability Showcase | April 18 | Be wowed by elementary, middle, and high school students from across the San Antonio region as they present their innovative work, science-fair style, around issues relating to sustainability.
Puppy Yoga with SNIPSA | April 20 | You’ve heard of hot yoga… But how about puppy yoga? Every third Thursday at Confluence Park, SNIPSA is partnering with Mobile Om to bring a little extra cuteness to your flow.
Birding the San Antonio River | April 23 | Sponsored by the Bexar Audubon Society, Artist Mark Menjivar has partnered with the San Antonio River Foundation to design a handcrafted field guide and lead a corresponding bird walk to teach adults and children of all ages how to identify birds found in habitats surrounding Confluence Park and the Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project of the San Antonio River, the largest Urban Ecosystem Restoration Project in the country.
2nd Annual Earth Week Litter Challenge | April 15-23 | Celebrate Earth Day and National Volunteer Month by taking part in a friendly competition with local groups to see who can pick up the most litter in our watershed during Earth Week: April 15th – 23rd, 2023. Winners will receive a Trash Trophy and a kayaking trip for up to 25 people along the Mission Reach of the San Antonio River.
Glow in the Dark Yoga | April 21 | Get your body moving with yoga in the dark!
Mission Reach Flotilla Fest | April 22 | The San Antonio River Foundation, and the San Antonio River Authority, invite you to participate in the Official Kayaking Event of Fiesta San Antonio.

MUSEUM REACH
Located north of downtown, you’ll find the Museum Reach portion of the River Walk which is home to the Historic Pearl Art District.
Movie Mondays | Every Monday | 1100 Springs Plaza (200 E. Grayson) in between Full Goods Diner and Ladino | Movies will start playing at sunset. Plenty of seating will be available although we invite you to bring your own blankets and chairs.
Bidi Bidi Party | April 16 | Help us celebrate the Queen of Tejano’s birthday! Bring your family and friends for a night of music, dancing, great food, and great drinks.
Yoga Under the Stars | Every Tuesday | Come let go of your daily stressors with Nomadik Yoga every Tuesday night in April & May. Unwind as you hear Mar Abajo Río playing soothing yoga sounds while being guided in yoga practice.
Weekend Market | Every Saturday + Sunday | Pearl Farmers Market is an open-air grocery store, held rain or shine.
TOBIN CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
Another spot in San Antonio to take in the arts is also located right along the River Walk and is home to many different events that include performances, concerts, and workshops!
Encanto | H-E-B Cinema on Will’s Plaza | April 14 | Full concessions and bar available. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the movie on our 32-foot LED video wall (Chairs are also available at the venue). No outside food or drinks are allowed on the plaza. No pets allowed on the plaza, please.
Drum Circle | Wellness at the Tobin | April 15 | A mixture of drums and hand percussion will be available for your use, however, feel free to bring your own percussion instruments to join in the fun.
Zumba | Wellness at the Tobin | April 22 | Come prepared with comfortable shoes and clothes that you can move in.
90-Second Newbery Film Festival | April 22 | 90 Second Newbery is a video contest in which kid filmmakers are challenged to create movies that tell the entire story of award-winning Newbery Medal and Newbery Honor books in about 90 seconds.
Salsa Dance | Wellness at the Tobin | April 29 | Come prepared with comfortable shoes and clothes that you can move in.
SAN PEDRO CREEK CULTURE PARK
You can call this the sister to the San Antonio River Walk as it’s located a short walk from it. San Pedro Creek Culture Park is the newly opened phase celebrating San Antonio culture, environmental responsibility, and sustainable practices.
Yoga on the Creek | Every Monday | Unroll your mat with us every Monday to move, breathe and connect with a soulful c(om)munity along San Pedro Creek Culture Park in the heart of downtown San Antonio.
CreekFest | April 15 | Take in the beautiful landscape of the park while enjoying student mariachi performances, a community drum circle, Fin Addict fishing education, Mobile Om Yoga, food trucks, and shopping vendors.
