Meet Timmy Duckin, The Friendly Face of the San Antonio River Walk
The Quirky Charm Behind the Feathers
Say hello to Timmy Duckin, the official duck mascot of the San Antonio River Walk and the city’s most cheerful ambassador for fun. Adopted by the Paseo del Rio Association in 2010, Timmy was originally created as the mascot for the Ford Lucky Duck Race where his bright personality and big heart quickly made him a favorite at River Walk events.
For years, this lovable duck brought smiles wherever he went, but he didn’t have an official name until 2016, when the Paseo del Rio Association staff unanimously decided to name him after San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan, affectionately known as “Old Man Riverwalk.”
Former Mayor Ivy Taylor officially declared July 21 as Tim Duncan Day, honoring his 19 seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, five NBA championships, and incredible contributions to the city.
Today, we celebrate July 21 not only as Tim Duncan Day, but also as Timmy Duckin’s birthday!
