Explore the San Antonio River Walk By Area

Distinctive Adventures to Match Your Vibe

The  #1 tourist attraction in Texas is the 15-mile San Antonio River Walk, which flows through downtown San Antonio and beyond. We’re excited to welcome you to the enchanting San Antonio River Walk, where history, culture, and natural beauty converge to create an unforgettable journey. This iconic destination boasts three distinct sections, each offering its own unique charm.

In the Downtown area, you'll find a bustling urban landscape filled with shops, dining, and cultural landmarks, including the renowned Alamo. While walking through the wide promenades, visitors can watch colorful cruises that ferry tourists by. Explore this beautiful urban oasis with serene waters, lush greenery, and a vibrant cultural scene. Sit and relax while sipping a margarita or eating a meal.

For a less busy part of the River Walk, head north to the Museum Reach, where it connects with the old Pearl Brewery, Brackenridge Park, Witte Museum, and the San Antonio Museum of Art. The Museum Reach invites you to explore a serene riverine world adorned with art, museums, and lush greenery.

Or head south to the Mission Reach, where the River Walk was extended for 8 miles, connecting four missions to create San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage-designated site (the first and only in Texas!) The Mission Reach transforms the river into a vibrant ecosystem.

Whichever stretch of the River Walk you choose, you're in for a delightful adventure filled with art, history, and the soothing embrace of the San Antonio River.
