Keep it Cool with a Day Pool Pass
When the sun is scorching, nothing beats taking a refreshing dip in a pool. Fortunately, several hotels along the River Walk offer day pool passes, allowing you to enjoy their pools without being a registered guest. So, whether you’re visiting for a day or a local looking for a River Walk adventure, thanks to ResortPass you can take advantage of these pool amenities at places like The Thompson Hotel, Grand Hyatt, Mokara Hotel and Spa, and so many more!
Take an Indoor Adventure at the Shops at Rivercenter
If you prefer to stay indoors but still want to explore, the Shops at Rivercenter is the perfect spot. This multi-level shopping center not only offers a wide range of stores and boutiques to satisfy your shopping cravings but also provides interactive experiences the entire family will enjoy! Currently, visitors can take a step back in time to Pangea to explore a Dino Safari or take adventures to new heights by ziplining through a section of the mall with incredible views of the River Walk at LiggetVille Adventure Center. BONUS: If you want to make your visit to Shops at River Center, grab lunch or dinner at one of its many restaurants and make a stop at LEGOLAND Discovery Center and SEA LIFE San Antonio Aquarium.
Experience a Dine-in Dinner at the Newest Restaurant on the River Walk
Nothing elevates a day on the River Walk like a delicious dinner, and Brenner’s is the latest hotspot you won’t want to miss. Brenner’s on the River Walk specializes in steak, seafood, and incredible craft libations. This new restaurant is situated in a historic three-story building with views of the River Walk at every table. Make sure to catch a glimpse of its live music that happens every night!
Head North (Museum Reach) for Frozen Margaritas
Quench your thirst and cool down at Carriqui, located in the Museum Reach section of the River Walk. Recently voted Restaurant of the Year, make sure to try its classic ice-cold Carriqui Margarita served on the rocks with our signature smoked salt, or a frozen margarita made with fresh lime juice and citrus salt. They also have a delicious food menu that features charred jalapeno salsa, queso with fire-roasted chiles, or classic bean and cheese nachos topped with house-smoked brisket. Craving more chill? With our fresh lineup of seasonal cocktails, featuring a Smoked Pineapple Mojito, the Sandía Daiquiri, and our Santa Fresca. Carriqui will transport you to a cooling oasis.
BONUS: Carriqui serves half-priced margaritas all day every Tuesday, brunch starts at 10 a.m. on the weekends, and Smokehouse Sundays features live music from Las Coronelas and pitmaster specials beginning at 2 p.m.
Head South (Mission Reach) for a Self-Care Day at Camp Hot Wells
Finally, unwind by the Mission Reach section of the River Walk at Camp Hot Wells! Back in 1892, a highly sulfuric water source was discovered near a nearby psychiatric facility on the Southside of San Antonio. Although not suitable for consumption, the water was believed to possess therapeutic qualities. Just a year later, entrepreneur McClellan Shacklett started leasing the water from the facility’s well and constructed the first Hot Wells Hotel, offering a place for visitors to relax, soak, and socialize. Today it’s no longer a hotel, but this hidden treasure provides a rejuvenating experience with its Hot Springs soak, camping facilities, and the chance to enjoy beer and wine amidst the historic Hot Wells Ruins (which was once the hotel). It’s the ideal way to conclude a hectic day and indulge in some well-deserved self-care!
