In conjunction with the American’s Armed Forces River Parade, the Yellow Ribbon Project provides the community with the opportunity to show their support for all branches of the military by purchasing a yellow ribbon in honor or memory of a loved one who is serving or has served. The Yellow Ribbons will be displayed on the trees along the River Walk May 1st-May 16th. Proceeds from ribbon sales are used to underwrite the America’s Armed Forces River Parade, May 16, 2015. Ribbons are $5 each and are sold online (click on PURCHASE link below). If purchased prior to April 30 the honorees name will appear in the Armed Forces River Day official program and online.

April 21-24 from 7-10pm each day the River Walk will feature local middle school and high school Mariachi Bands perform on floating barges along the 2 1/2 mile downtown area of the River Walk. Enjoy the music from the banks of the River Walk as the barges float along. This is a great time to sit outside at a River Walk restaurant, sip on a margarita and enjoy the music. Each set of barges will make one lap around the River Walk. Barges are not guranteed to stop in any particular place. You will see the boats from the patios of any river walk restaurant or Rivercenter Mall. Barges will load and unload at The Chamber of Commerce (river level).This is an official FIESTA event. Free.

Participating vendors display some of the most unique handmade merchandise available anywhere. Thank you for signing up as a volunteer to install, and, or remove yellow ribbons along the River Walk. Yellow Ribbon Project honors men and women serving in the mililtary, past and present. The ribbons will be displayed from May 2 - May 16 culminating in America's Armed Forces River Parade. You will be sent an email reminder a few days prior. As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to get a behind the scenes view of the magic of River Walk parades. Your help is most appreciated. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and we will provide water.

The Paseo del Rio Association’s mission is to promote, protect and preserve the San Antonio River Walk. The association has gained permission to create and install a bronze bust of Robert H.H. Hugman, architect and "Father of the River Walk". Please consider donating to this cause. A fundraiser will be held on May 7th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Antonio to raise the final portion of the funds needed to erect the bust and to lanch a Hugman Architectual Scholarship at the University of Texas San Antonio. America’s Armed Forces River Parade
May 16, 2015, 5pm-6, Tops In Blues Concert / 6-7pm Parade, Arneson Theatre
This parade is dedicated to the men and women of the Armed Forces; past, present and future.
26 patriotically-decorated floats carrying all 5 branches of military personnel ranging from enlisted to a general. Patriotic music is played from the floats and on stage to serenade the floats throughout the 2 1/2 mile downtown area of the River Walk including the Arneson Theatre.
This is one of the largest Parades held on the River Walk. It is televised live locally and syndicated in 26 markets throughout the United Sates including the Pentagon Channel. The 2015 Grand Marshall’s are 3 Medal of Honor recipients General Patrick Brady, Sgt. Santiago Erevia, Sgt. Clarence Sasser. The primary parade sponsors are Budweiser and Silver Eagle Distributor’s.
