Juan Diego Polanco a.k.a JD is originally from Brownsville, Texas. He attended Homer Hanna High School and graduated from The University of Texas at Brownsville. In high school, he was part of the JROTC program and its armed drill team. The team competed around the state against other high schools. When he was a freshman, the team came to San Antonio to compete, and JD fell in love with the city.

In 2002, he moved to San Antonio to pursue a career and enjoy the city he long before fell in love with. He started his career in the Alamo City as a baker in a downtown hotel. He moved around hotel departments exploring the many possibilities, and finally, in 2006 he became a concierge. He attended San Antonio College and UTSA while working full time in the hospitality industry.
After learning much about the city and what it had to offer, JD knew being a concierge was his calling. He wanted every visitor to know what our city had to offer and not miss any of the culture and beauty. He got to know visitors and helped them navigate the city by making their visit a memorable experience.

JD’s goal is to continue to Promote, Protect, and Preserve our beautiful River Walk, our city, culture, and events.
