The holidays mean more than Christmas lights and jingle bells to San Antonio. Since the first game in 1993, the Valero Alamo Bowl has created excitement and pageantry in San Antonio that rings in the New Year with thrilling games in front of capacity crowds and record television ratings.
The Valero Alamo Bowl showcases two of the premier conferences in the country, featuring the #1 Pac-12 team against the #1 Big 12 team after the College Football Playoff selections.
The Valero Alamo Bowl has hosted 28 bowl games that have combined to attract over 1.6 million spectators (over 50% are out-of-town visitors), generate a total economic impact in excess of $950 million dollars and contribute over $120 million to higher education through team payouts and local scholarships.
Don’t miss the ultimate San Antonio pub crawl as you’ll make five stops along the River Walk. Each establishment will have drink specials, live music, and plenty of big game cheer. The party starts at Little Rhein Prost House and will end with several lucky crawlers getting a ride in a river cruiser with the Valero Alamo Bowl trophy!
