September 11th Memorial Climb at Tower of the Americas
September 11, 2019: 8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Location: 739 East Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard
On Wednesday, September 11, Tower of the Americas will pay tribute to the 343 firefighters, 70 law enforcement officers and nine emergency response personnel who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Beginning at 8:46 a.m., local-area firefighters, law enforcement officials, military personnel and civilians will climb the 952 steps of the Tower of the Americas to recognize each fallen hero. Participants will climb the Tower twice to reach and actually exceed the 110 floors of the World Trade Center and will also carry a tag that honors each firefighter, law enforcement officer and EMS personnel who lost their lives on this tragic day in American history. This memorial climb will conclude with the ringing of a bell at 10:30 a.m. recognizing the collapse of the North Tower.
