Winter is here in San Antonio! And though it seems like the season never lasts all that long in Texas, we’re sharing some winter gems to discover in and around the San Antonio River Walk!

Start Your Day With Coffee

What started as a group of friends with a caffeinated dream has now turned into Stranded Coffee, San Antonio’s beloved coffee truck located in Southtown within walking distance of the beautiful River Walk. We’d share our favorites off the menu with you – but with a phenomenal coffee selection that changes with the seasons, we just can’t decide!

Discover the Grotto

Head over to the Museum Reach portion of the River Walk to find The Grotto. Artist Carlos Cortez is credited with this creation and this structure features winding passageways, splashing waterfalls, and faces carved into the walls. Once you’ve taken in the beautiful sites here, you’re just a hop, skip, and jump away from Historic Pearl!

Stroll the River Walk Public Art Garden

Featuring both local and international artists, the River Walk Public Art Garden is located between the Shops at Rivercenter and the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Check out over 20 pieces of art and find inspiration and information on even more public art located throughout the city.

Catch a Show at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts

Overlooking the San Antonio River, the Tobin Center features state-of-the-art seating and boasts acoustics that can be “tuned” to fit individual performances. Catch a show here – in January you can find a performance of Rent, a live show from Fantasia, and a comedy performance by Noel Miller. Find a complete schedule of events at the Tobin Center’s event page

Do it for the ‘Gram…or TikTok…at Hopscotch

Just a few blocks from the River Walk, you’ll find Hopscotch! Filled with immersive exhibits, artworks from local and international artists, and an onsite bar, Hopscotch is the perfect way to end the day. Insider Tip – some nights feature local food trucks and vendors!
