Military River Parade- Here’s to our Heroes
Date: May 19, 2012 Time: 3:00PM - 5:00PM
A River Parade dedicated to the men and women of the Armed Forces. A NEW River Walk Event.
San Antonio is known as Military City, USA, so we want to honor our Men and Women in the Armed Services, as well as those who have served in conflicts throughout recent history. On Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 19th, 25 professionally decorated floats will travel down the River Walk, themed according to their participants- all branches of service, veterans of recent conflicts, military support groups, etc. The floats will feature live entertainment from military groups, as well as local artists who wish to dedicate their talents to honor the troops.
The parade is FREE to view from the patios and balconies of River Walk Restuarants, or from the banks of the San Antonio River Walk. However, you can avoid the crowds and guarantee yourself an unobstructed view of the parade, by purchasing a ticket for a RESERVED seat. Reserved seats are quality plastic folding chairs in the Arneson River Theatre ($15), along the extension of the River Walk (near the Chamber of Commerce Building, $10) and the Rivercenter Mall lagoon (SOLD OUT). These areas of the River Walk are open to Ticket Holders only. To see a map of the parade route, and to purchase tickets NOW, click "TICKETS" above, or call 210-227-4262.
WE ARE NO LONGER MAILING TICKETS. Tickets need to be picked up at Will Call (Located at 418 Villita St., 78205) between 8am and 3pm the day of the parade- Saturday, May 19th. WE WILL NOT BE THERE UNTIL SATURDAY, May 19th. The Will Call Booth will be located outside of the Villita Assembly Building (See Map Below).
