Bud Light Mardi Gras on the River Walk

Date: February 6, 2016   Time: 1:00PM - 6:00PM

Celebrate Mardi Gras on the River Walk! Listen to a wide-range of New Orleans style music as you stroll along the banks of the river stopping at bars and restaurants while enjoying the festive atmosphere of Mardi Gras decorations. The public is encouraged to come dressed  in masks, costumes and beads. Many restaurants, bars and hotels will be offering traditonal and creative New Orleans style food and drink specials.  Or, take a seat at the Arneson River theatre and enjoy New Orleans styles music from the stage and New Orleans food  from truck vendors located on La Villita Way.  At 3:30pm the River Rat Brass Band will play on a float for one lap around the river ending at the Arneson River Theatre. A one-hour parade runs twice; at 4pm and then again at 5pm along the Arneson, River Walk “Horseshoe” and up to Lukes and Acenar Restaurants. Beads will abound!  This is a free event.

River parade runs throughout the entire downtown area of the River walk  at 4pm & again at 5 pm                                                                                                               Numerous restaurants, bars, hotels and  will decorate, feature music, entertainment with plenty of food and drink specials.


Come by La Villita:

Between 1-6pm enjoy tarot card readings, New Orleans caricatures and a henna artist. Two free features are the New Orleans selfie-zone and mask making.

Food Trucks:

Where Y'at featuring crab po'boys, crawfish boil, shrimp creole, beignets, and more.

Drakes Fun Food serving up fried catfish, wings and a whole lot more

Along the River Walk Enjoy:


The Republic of Texas Restaurant: Serving a Mardi Gras-Rita (red wine base margarita) in 12, 22 and 42 ounce glasses and the live blues/jazz music of Thomas Pope from 2-6pm as well as face painting. 

Dicks Last Resort: Voodoo Punch, Red Beans and Dirty Rice, Cajun Corn,  and have a Live Band.

Rain Forrest Cafe: serving blackened fish and pasta-lia. 

San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk:  Featuring live music as well as authentic New Orleans food and drinks.

Cowboy's Alamo City Harley Davidson:  Serving free King Cake with a  sale on men's and women's tank tops.  

Joe's Crab Shack:  Lots of food and drink specials in the grand New Orleans style.

San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk: Crawfish Etouffee, Charbroiled Oysters, Beignets, King Cake. Drinks-Mardi Gras Madness Margarita, Purple Haze Shot, Fat Tuesday, Frozen on Bourbon Street, TX Cyclone
